Biography

Teri C. Gibson, RPR, CRR, CRC, CRI

Teri C. Gibson has built a career on precision verbatim reporting, real-time communication access, and reporter education. She began reporting in 1981 after graduating from Chicago College of Commerce with an Associate Degree in Business (Court Reporting) and earning her CSR certification. Her background spans independent freelance practice and service as an official Federal court reporter, delivering high-level verbatim transcripts across complex civil and criminal litigation.

In 2001, Teri expanded her scope of practice to include Certified CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) services. For the past twenty-five years, she has provided individual and projection real-time captioning across higher education classrooms, judicial proceedings, medical appointments, and large community conventions, advocating for equal communication access for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.

Recognizing the need for ongoing technical excellence within the profession, Teri founded the Gibson Skill Development and Training Center in 2016, specializing in advanced Total Eclipse CAT software instruction, steno dictionary management, and workflow optimization for reporters, scopists, and proofreaders. She is a long-standing member of the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) and has served as an instructor for the NCRA A to Z® Intro to Steno Machine Shorthand program, mentoring aspiring students into the field.

In recent years, Teri has bridged traditional steno expertise with emerging technology, developing custom educational web applications and digital resources tailored to transcript production and legal grammar. Arkansas has been added to the states where Teri provides court reporting services, and she is available for assignments there. Proudly affiliated with the Arkansas Court Reporters Association, The National Court Reporters Association, and the Massachusetts Court Reporters' Association, Teri remains committed to supporting the court reporting community through high-standard real-time captioning, peer mentorship, and software training.
